Episode 28: Passing Destinies
Following on the previous episode, Treize recaps the events of episodes 17-26. There is a tiny bit more plot development in this episode over the previous one, especially at the very end of the episode when we see that Treize is working on a secret project under the noses of Romefeller.
Since last time, I covered the original plan for these episodes, there isn't much for me to talk about. Instead, lets take a look at a little comparison of the video quality in these 2 episodes.
If you click on the thumbnail above, you'll see a comparison between Episode 27, the same scene in Episode 1, and the R1 DVD version of that same shot in episode 27. While the R1 comparison is there just for the sake of comparing the remaster to the old version, you can see a slight quality drop in the Episode 27 version. My guess is that the clip show was assembled from broadcast masters instead of the actual footage, so when the remastering process was performed, the footage still improved, but not quite as much as the other episodes. Not that I blame the remastering team, since the other option, cutting and reassembling the footage from each episode, would be tedious for a minor payoff.
Anyway, now that the clipshows are done with, we can get back to the story starting with the next episode.
