Episode 27: The Locus Of Victory and Defeat
Heero and Relena recap the events of episodes 1 through 16. That's it. There is MAYBE about a minute worth of new animation.
So, since there is no point in me doing a writeup on this, let's talk about why we got this clip show. In the original outline for these episodes, Head Writer Katsuyuki Sumizawa had planned to detail the background of Operation Meteor, such as the training of the pilots, the planning of Wing Zero and the other Gundams, that sort of thing. However, due to production problems, Sumizawa stepped down as head writer and became Story Supervisor. Because of this, the planned "flashback" episodes were cancelled, and replaced by the clip shows. Part of the flashback idea was eventually used in Endless Waltz, and Sumizawa also adapted his planned scripts into the Episode Zero manga. The manga covers the back story of the five pilots, as well as Relena, and has a chapter taking place right as Operation Meteor begins (some of which we see in Endless Waltz), and finally, a chapter set after Endless Waltz that ends on an unresolved cliffhanger.
Now, as a special bonus, I have secured scans of the complete Episode Zero, which as far as I know, has been out of print for some time. I'll be throwing this in with the bonus features for batch 3, but for those of you who want to read it now, below the torrent link, you'll find a link to the manga scans on MegaUpload. I've also secured a few more manga scans that I'll be releasing as we go forward as part of the bonus materials. These are scanlations and not scans of the official English releases that were done by TokyoPop, so there are a few spelling differences, like Cinq Kingdom instead of Sanc. There are also a few missing pages, but the person that did the translations fills in what is missing. In the end though, this still gives you a great deal of information on the backstory of the series.

This is the seventh and final episode of the 7 Gundam Wing episodes coming this week. Also, I finally got off my ass and got the MD5's caught up for these episodes, so for those who want them, they are up to date.

Who is the Scanlator do you know?
Not a clue to be honest. I pulled the name from the Angelfire URL on the pages, and discovered the files through a LiveJournal manga community, where they were posted by someone who had saved them and packaged them together.
I have the episode zero manga, let me find it and I'll scan it and upload it.
Ah, cool, let me know when you've done that and I'll replace the link and put your version into the batch bonus materials instead of this one. I'd prefer the official version anyway.
I would very much appreciate it if you could do that. Thank You very much.
