Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Remastered - Post Project Wrapup

Project Complete 1

So here we are. On April 10th, 2009, I released the first episode of my Gundam Wing Remastered project. Now, 49 episodes and 107 days later, I write this, having just released Episode 49. To say I'm proud of completing my first series is an understatement. I'll be the first to admit that when I started it, I wasn't sure I'd keep enough interest in finishing it off. People told me I'd probably give up by the mid-teens, and I wasn't about to disagree with them. But what kept me going was, quite simply, all of you that have downloaded and commented on these files. That turned this project from just some thing I was fooling around with into a labor of love.

While it is kind of funny, looking ahead and knowing that there are no more episodes of the series to be worked on, there is, of course, other material to tackle. In the next few weeks, I will be working with BAMF, who is currently translating the release of Mobile Suit Gundam for Zeonic, to get the translation for the Operation Meteor OVA's. He tells me a lot of people have been asking him to do it, and with my interest in taking the official subs and mashing it together into part fansub, part official translation, he approached me and offered his services. So keep an eye out for those. It may take a month or two for me to completely edit the subs, but they are coming.

Of course, we can't forget the sequel to Gundam Wing, Endless Waltz. For those of you that have watched Episode 49, you may notice I took the liberty of adding a little to the episode, after the end credits roll. This post will end with a snapshot of that same addition. Amazingly, I found the exact same font used by Sunrise for the logo.

Anyway, Endless Waltz, as it stands, will only be coming in OVA form until I can find a raw or ISO of the movie version. The 3 OVA episodes will come sometime in the next week.

Batch torrents for 31-40 will come later in the week, around Thursday most likely. As usual, there will be bonus materials included. The batch for 41-49 will also include the 3 Endless Waltz episodes as well, so look for that batch sometime in the first week of August.

So, as I close the book on the Gundam Wing project, I have to thank everyone who has supported me through this project. Those of you who helped me in the beginning work out the kinks. To the people that have donated to help keep the seedbox running so that everyone can enjoy speedy downloads without choking my bandwidth (believe me, I appreciate it as much as you all do, if not more). Special thanks to ssj2_goha for his iPod conversions for those of us who want Gundam Wing On-The-Go. But most of all, thanks to everyone who has downloaded, enjoyed, and spread the word about this release. It really means a lot to me. So thank you all, once again.
