Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion - Project Preview

Project-1

Series Information

The Holy Empire of Britannia conquered the country previously known as “Japan.” They were forbidden to use that name, and is now called “Area 11.”

The people who live in “Area 11” are known as “Elevens.” The governing ruler is from the Britannia Empire, and reigns in the name of the Emperor of Britannia. The people of Japan were stripped of their rights to self-govern, and their pride—stolen.

The empire has been using their military power to conquer various countries as “areas.” Their strength is based on robotic weapons called “Knightmares.” The power these “Knightmares” exhibit during war is devastating, and it is what supports the world domination of the empire.

It seems that no one could stop the great power of the empire.

But someone is about to stand up against it.

Lelouch, the “black prince,” has fiery ambition in his heart and will stop at nothing to achieve his goal. He obtains the power of the “Geass” and decides to use that power for the sake of his sister Nunnally and to build a world based on his ideals.

Suzaku Kururugi, the “white knight,” aspires for justice and strives to live an honest and fair life. Suzaku is assigned to pilot the Knightmare Frame “Lancelot” and tries to achieve his ideals while overcoming the hurdles of reality.

The paths these two take will change the relationship of the Britannia Empire and “Elevens.”

The events in Area 11 are about to cause a stir.

Project Preview

Code Geass is one of my favorite recent animes, and my first non-Gundam release. Originally airing in the Fall of 2006, the show was a huge success, despite it's late night time slot. However, this slot allowed the series to explore darker, more mature themes than those normally found in the more popular (and now discontinued) Saturday evening time slot.

The series was released just about a year ago in the US, airing on Adult Swim, and the first season just completed it's DVD release. The series was followed up in Spring 2008 with a sequel that picked up where the original ended, called Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R2.

Project-3

I have completed the first episode and will be posting it shortly. One special bonus, thanks to Bandai, is that I have included the cast commentary track, complete with English subtitles. This series should be one of my faster releases as I have found that there is significantly less work required when making the transfer from the DVD's to the Blu-Ray rips.

Another bonus, which will be listed under it's own subheading, are the Picture Drama episodes. These shorts do not contain any major animation, but instead tell small background stories through the use of still images, like the one seen above. These help flesh out small background details to the series and are highly recommended due to their short length and small file size.

Project-4

The first episode and first picture drama should be going up this weekend. Further episodes should hopefully be released every few days. Enjoy!
